The Light of the World story kit

The Light of the World Story Kit is a hands-on heirloom quality resource designed to help children encounter 6 Bible stories through play, imagination and wonder.  From Genesis to Revelation, we can trace the thread of God's Light through the person and work of Jesus Christ.  Rooted in the key texts of Isaiah 9 and John 8, we see Jesus as the Light of the World who has come into the world to bring life to mankind.  

Perfect for use in church classrooms, schools, or at home, each element has been carefully crafted to reflect the warmth, joy, and mystery of Christ our Light.

This set is part of a larger series exploring the “I AM” statements of Jesus found in the Gospel of John.  Six complete kits will be released over time, each designed to help children discover more about who Jesus is.  The Light of the World is the second set to be released and can be used in tandem with the Advent season.

What’s Included

• Light of the World Story Mat (18" × 30")
  A felt-like polyester top with a non-slip rubber base.  The two toned story mat acts as simplified dark / light visual and story scene for multiple stories to be re-enacted.  It provides a beautiful, durable foundation for storytelling.  (Note: this story mat will be used in upcoming story sets, so it is versatile!)

• Light of the World Storage Pouch
  Double-sided design featuring the Light of the World on one side and a purple vine motif on the other (a liturgical cue for Advent and the anticipation of Christ, our King).  Made from durable, easy-care polyester with a sturdy zipper to keep story materials and cards together.

• Light of the World Story Cards (Set of 8)
  Jumbo 8.5" × 5.5" glossy cards with rounded corners. Includes:

  • Overview card showing how the six stories connect into one theme of promised and fulfilled Light.

  • Six Bible story cards with Scripture reference, parent/teacher notes, visual icons, storytelling script, actions, and “I wonder…” questions.

  • Isaiah 9:2, 6-7 Memory Aid Card featuring the verses in full on one side and a first-letter version on the reverse to support memorization.
